Global Learning Goes Digital – neuer Baustein der Datenbank ENGLOB
Die Europäische Datenbank zum Globalen Lernen (ENGLOB) hat den neuen Suchfilter „Digitalisierung“. Immer mehr Organisationen des Globalen Lernens beschäftigen sich mit dem digitalen Wandel. Sie nutzen digitale Mittel und beleuchten die vielfältigen Veränderungen, die er mit sich bringt.
Die Datenbank ENGLOB vernetzt europaweit zum Globalen Lernen. Organisationen können sich kostenfrei registrieren und dabei aus einer Vielzahl an Arbeitsfeldern, Themen, Partnerschaften und Organisationsformen auswählen. Mit dem Filter „Digitalisierung“ werden neu auch Organisationen vernetzt, die sich aus Perspektive des Globalen Lernens mit Digitalisierung beschäftigen oder die digitalen Mittel für sich nutzen.
„Wer hat Erfahrung in Griechenland mit Partnerschaftsarbeit über Videochats, wer stellt sich in Spanien die Frage, was der digitale Wandel für die Menschenrechte bedeutet, wer arbeitet in Finnland zum Rohstoffabbau für digitale Endgeräte? – Bei diesen Fragen hilft Ihnen neu die Europäische Datenbank zum Globalen Lernen (ENGLOB) weiter“, so Dr. Kambiz Ghawami, Vorsitzender des World University Service – Deutsches Komitee e. V. (WUS).
Mithilfe von ENGLOB entstehen Partnerschaften auf lokaler, regionaler, nationaler und europäischer Ebene. In der Datenbank sind ca. 1.500 staatliche und nichtstaatliche Organisationen eingetragen. Bereits eingetragene Organisationen können jederzeit ihre Angaben erweitern und nach Wunsch ergänzen. ENGLOB wird durch den WUS betreut und wurde 2003-2006 in Kooperation mit dem Nord-Süd-Zentrum des Europarates in Lissabon, dem Development Education Exchange in Europe Project (DEEEP) und dem Development Education Forum von CONCORD entwickelt.

Global Education Goes Digital – Database ENGLOB Gets New Feature
The database “European Network on Global Learning (ENGLOB)” now features the searching tool for “digitalization”. A growing number of organizations with a background in Global Education tackle topics around digital transformation. They use digital tools and shed light on the many changes digitalization brings with it.
ENGLOB connects organizations in the field of Global Education all over Europe. Registration is free and available in German, English, Spanish and French. The listed categories refer to themes, partnerships and forms of organization. The „digitalization“ filter now also connects organizations that deal with digital transformation from the perspective of Global Education or use digital tools in an innovative way themselves.
“Who in Greece has experience with collaborating via video chats, who in Spain is wondering what digital change means for human rights, who in Finland is working on the topic of resource mining for digital devices? – ENGLOB now helps you with all these questions”, says Dr. Kambiz Ghawami, chairman of World University Service – German Committee e. V. (WUS).
ENGLOB allows partnerships to be established at local, regional, national and European level. The database contains information on more than a thousand private, intermediary, and governmental organizations as well as on EU institutions and EFTA member states. ENGLOB is managed by WUS and was created in cooperation with the North-South Center of the Council of Europe (Lisbon), Development Education Exchange in Europe Project (DEEEP) and the Development Education Forum of CONCORD. The database was conceived and developed between 2003 and 2006, with financial support from the European Union.
